April Parnell
April Parnell is a native of Glendora, CA. In 2020 the Parnell five moved from California to Marvin, North Carolina. April has stayed active her entire life by playing water polo, volleyball, swimming and was a Fitbody Bootcamp Instructor for over five years. April helped coached two Mission softball teams before becoming the Softball Director. She loves to watch the growth of all the girls in the organization. She is married to her amazing husband, David. April and David have three great kids. Brooke and Chloe who are both part of the Mission Softball Organization and their youngest Evan plays soccer.
David Parnell 16U/ HS
David is a native of Southern California. In 2020, David, his wife, and three children relocated to Marvin, NC. Growing up, David was a multi-sport athlete playing baseball and football. David began coaching girls fastpitch softball in 2015, both recreational softball and competitive travel softball. David focuses on player development and growth, a team first mentality, and winning.
Vinny Ferreri 14U Mission Azul
Driven, passionate, and committed to excellence, Coach Vinny brings an energetic presence and a winning mindset to the softball diamond. With a deep understanding of the game and years of coaching experience, he has built a reputation for developing well-rounded athletes—both on and off the field.
With a dynamic blend of athletic knowledge and educational expertise, Coach Vinny brings 17 years of teaching experience to the softball field. As a longtime Physical Education and Health teacher, he knows how to connect with student-athletes in meaningful ways—developing not just skilled players, but strong, confident individuals.
Coach Vinny is known for his high-energy coaching style, strategic mindset, and unwavering commitment to teamwork, discipline, and character while empowering athletes to compete at their highest level by having fun and loving the game.
Off the field, Coach Vinny is a devoted family man—married to his wife Mary Ferreri for 16 years and the proud father of a 13-year-old. His values as a coach reflect his life at home: lead by example, support one another, and always bring your best.
From developing young talent to preparing teams for the next level, Coach Vinny brings the heart of a teacher and the drive of a competitor to every practice, game, and season. Under his leadership, teams have consistently demonstrated strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and a relentless competitive spirit.
Whether coaching youth leagues, travel ball, middle school, or high school teams, Coach Vinny is known for his never give up mentality.
